Welcome to

Milnathort community council

ONE

BIG

FAMILY

Milnathort Community Council (MCC) is one of around 1,200 Community Councils (CCs) in Scotland. MCC is a voluntary and apolitical organisation, consisting of up to 8 Community Councillors (CClrs) elected by Milnathort residents on the voters roll.  CClrs must be resident within the MCC boundary and on the voters role.

Our statutory duty is to act as a voice for Milnathort expressing the views and concerns of local people, groups and businesses on a wide range of issues to the local authority, other public bodies and private agencies.  We also carry out activities in the interests of our community and village.

Some key issues include:

PLANNING

MCC has a statutory right to be consulted on planning applications.  We may comment on or object to an application, after reviewing and taking into considerationany representation from the community.

POLICING

We receive regular bulletins from our Community Policing Team and from Community Watch reflecting police activity in the Perth and Kinross area.  We maintain close contact with our local community police officer, who is often present at our meetings.

ROADS

We are in regular communications with Perth and Kinross Council regarding road improvements, maintenance, speed limits, signage, snow clearance provisions, verge maintenance, recurrent accidents etc.

WARD COUNCILLORS

Our Ward Councillors regularly contribute to our Council meeting and provide valuable support and advice on a wide range of matters
